Project partner Essity has published a feature on its contribution to PROTEUS. In the press release, the company presents its work on bio-based super absorbents derived from sustainably harvested brown macroalgae.
The feature explains how Essity is assessing raw materials from Laminaria hyperborea for products such as baby diapers, feminine care and incontinence products. It also shows one practical example of how PROTEUS connects marine biomass research with product development. The wider project aims to reduce reliance on fossil-based materials and make better use of brown macroalgae.
The story was published in several languages and promoted in several countries, helping to bring PROTEUS to a wider audience. Coverage included countries such as Sweden, Germany, Peru, Chile, Brazil, the Netherlands, Colombia, Poland, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States.
